Join us for a fun-filled community day with sensory storytimes, bubbles, face painting, drummers, arts activities, games and more.

Come along and discover everything the City of Melville Libraries have to offer. Chat with friendly library staff, explore services, and even sign up for membership on the spot.

Little explorers aged 2–5 can enjoy a special outdoor storytime featuring We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen, brought to life with fun, sensory-inspired activities.

There’s plenty of magic to enjoy throughout the day, with Rin the Garden Fairy creating colourful face painting designs, alongside bubbles and creative magical fun. Kulungah Myah will also be hosting an arts and crafts area, giving children the chance to get creative.

Be part of a vibrant community artwork as the basketball court gets a fresh new look. Join artist Ilona McGuire and add your mark to a mural reflecting Whadjuk Noongar Country and the local community.

For those who love a bit of friendly competition, enjoy giant games like Connect 4, Jenga, and Checkers, facilitated by the City of Melville’s Youth Engagement team. Get your rhythm on in the drumming circle with traditional African musicians, Akwaaba. There will also be a lucky dip of ex-library adult fiction books and a small selection of children’s books to browse and enjoy.

You can also visit the seed sowing stall to take home and plant a tray of seasonal seeds for your autumn food crop, completely free while stocks last.

When you’re ready for a break, grab a bite from the sausage sizzle provided by Kardy Connect, your local Town Team.
