The City of Melville is a proudly diverse City where each community contributes to the City’s character. Harmony Week
Harmony Week runs every year from 15 to 21 March as an opportunity and reminder for everyone to experience, explore and appreciate a wealth of cultural, religious, linguistic and ethnic diversity.
Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) for Non English Speakers
The Australian Government, through the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, provides this service for people who do not speak English and for English speakers needing to communicate with them. The City residents are entitled to a free interpreting service provided by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.
To use the telephone interpreting service, follow these directions:
- Call 131 450
- Tell the Operator the language you speak
- Tell the Operator that you wish to speak to the City of Melville. The phone number is 9364 0666.
This service is available during normal City of Melville business hours. This service is also available on request at the Customer Service Counter at the City of Melville Civic Centre, 10 Almondbury Road, Booragoon.

Social English
Learn and practise your English while having fun. The Melville Social English Club offers weekly conversation and grammar classes during school terms, in a friendly and relaxed environment, for beginners to the more advanced.
