Help us restore the foreshore and spend this National Tree Day at Point Waylen!

National Tree Day is right around the corner, and the City of Melville is working towards restoring the 8,000m² of vital habitat at Point Waylen! Come on down and enjoy tree planting, guided birdwatching walks, refreshments and a community BBQ. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or giving it a go for the first time, everyone is welcome.

Bring closed-toe shoes, a raincoat, a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle. We will provide tools and gloves.

Itinerary 

9:00am - Welcome to Country and Introduction - Acknowledgement and overview of the activities.

Demonstration and Bird Walk Information - Explain the planting process and any OHS items. Explain the bird walk and provide scheduled times and meet-up location

Planting - participants planting in pre-dug holes.

9.30am - Birdwalk (approx 45 min) - Guided bird walk with the Friends of Melville Bird Sanctuary educating the community on birds that can be found at Point Waylen.

10.15am - Birdwalk (approx 45 min)

11.00am - Birdwalk (approx 45 min)

12.15pm - Wrap up / food - lead participants out of the site and provide them with a free BBQ
