Community consultation period
Community invited to cast their vote on preferred design.
The playground at Warwick Wild Park will soon undergo renewal as part of the City’s ongoing program, and we’re inviting the community to help choose the new design. Your input will directly guide the final outcome, ensuring it reflects how the space is used by local residents and park visitors.
Four exciting playground designs have been developed, each offering a different mix of play experiences. The community is invited to vote for their preferred design, which will directly inform what gets built. Additional improvements will also be delivered as part of the upgrade, including the relocation of a seat and increased tree planting to enhance shade and amenity within the park.
Families are encouraged to get involved together. Parents and carers can explore the designs with children and young people in their household, chat about which option looks the most fun, and share everyone’s views.

As part of the playground upgrade, the community can have a say on the playground equipment and overall design. Elements such as shade sails and toilets are not included in this scope.
The type and level of infrastructure provided at each park is guided by its size, intended use, and classification within the City’s park hierarchy. Warwick Wild Park is classified as a local park.
The local community will determine the final outcome through voting. If results are within 5 vote margin, the City will review the outcomes and confirm the final decision based on financial and technical considerations.
Yes, submissions can be completed on their behalf, provided consent is given. Alternative ways to participate are always available through online, by phone, or in person, and the City of Melville can assist if required.
The hierarchy of parks within the City reflect state documentation/strategies. These classifications are based on the number of anticipated visitors and the distance they are drawn from:
- District parks - people will attend from over two kilometres
- Neighbourhood parks - residents from 800 metres
- Local parks - residents from approximately 400 metres
- Pocket parks - incidental green spaces around the City.
The distribution of district, neighbourhood and local parks allows us to have a balanced level of the quality of space across the City.
