About Creative Melville

Creative Melville is about realising the City's cultural potential and celebrating the creativity, stories and places that connect our community. Through our cultural centres, arts programs and events, creative learning, artist opportunities, collections, public art, place-making and cultural planning, we nurture a thriving and expressive City that prioritises a sense of belonging and wellbeing for our community.

Creative Melville envisions a future where cultural activity and engagement thrives - creating culture for everyone, everywhere - fostering and strengthening a community that is healthy, safe, inclusive and vibrant.

Cultural Plan

Creative Melville - Realising the City's Cultural Potential is the City of Melville's Cultural Plan 2018 - 2022. Guided by community voices, this inspiring plan charts a creative and connected future, one that celebrates local identity, fosters creative learning and innovation, and strengthens our shared sense of place through arts, culture, and storytelling.

Cultural Infrastructure Strategy

The Cultural Infrastructure Strategy 2022 - 2042 guides the direction for the development of the City's cultural facilities and assets over a 20-year period. Building on the vision of the Cultural Plan to realise the City's cultural potential, the strategy outlines how we can grow and support the spaces and places that foster culture, creativity, and connection across our community.
