Turn plastic waste into something amazing! Join Nearer to Nature and ReMida for a hands-on workshop exploring creative ways to reuse everyday plastics.

We all know that plastic waste can pose a huge threat to our oceans and local wildlife, but you can be part of the solution! Join Nearer to Nature and ReMida in this fun, hands-on session that is your perfect introduction to reusing plastics. You’ll discover simple, practical ways to safely remold, remake, and reuse everyday plastic items, transforming them from litter into your very own cool new creations.

Bring your ideas, get your hands moving, and learn how easy it is to protect our environment through creativity!


This is not a 'drop and leave' event. All people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible parent/carer. Parents/carers are responsible for the safety and well-being of children at all times.

Type of event and expectations

Children's workshop space - Children are expected to follow instructions of the program facilitator and be respectful at all times. Participants must be capable of following safety instructions. Quiet spaces will be available for this event. Parents/carers are responsible for the safety and well-being of children at all times and should remain on site for the duration of the events (multiple seating areas are available to parents/carers while at EcoHub).

Accessible parking is available at front of EcoHub, rooms are located on multiple levels via a ramp and toilets are available within the venue. For specific access requirements please feel free to call or email EcoHub at (08)9364 0191 or [email protected]

Directions to EcoHub
Please consider using public transportation. A bus stop, just a 2-minute walk away, is conveniently located near EcoHub and services multiple routes.

EcoHub is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in the Piney Lakes Reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Hwy across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark.

Recycling hub
Bring the following items in household quantities for recycling at EcoHub when you attend: household batteries, printer cartridges, light globes, mobile phones and chargers, plastic bread tags, oral care products, plastic bottle lids, metal bottle lids, beer can clips and corks.
