This May and June, we’re proud to collaborate with Blak Dingo Club to present a free film series, book club and quiz night in honour of National Reconciliation Week (27 May - 3 June).
Join us each week as we celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander film history, actors, filmmakers, producers and stories.
For this session, we’re screening Emily: I am Kam – revealing the work of one of Australia’s most significant artists, Emily Kam Kngwarray
Directed by Danielle MacLean, the film delves into Emily Kam Kngwarray's transformative impact on the international contemporary art world and her enduring legacy. Emily: I Am Kam is a detailed portrait that offers an intimate and profound exploration of Kngwarray, a trailblazing Anmatyerr artist from the Northern Territory whose work is deeply rooted in her connection to Country, culture, and community. A rare opportunity to witness her journey and the profound influence of her art and explores the power of Kngwarray's work to protect her Country.
