About the presenter:
Shannon is a children’s book illustrator, fine artist and art teacher from Perth, Western Australia.
Since childhood, she has found joy in creating and expressing herself in the visual arts, following in the footsteps of her artistic father. She loves to create in a variety of mediums including: watercolour, pastels, coloured pencils, mixed media, printmaking and collage.
She has illustrated several published children’s books, her most recent book being Mavis: The Little Plane Spotter, written by Angela Toniolo published in 2025 by Wombat Books.
She has mainly illustrated using traditional techniques but has created digital illustrations too. She holds a BA (Visual Arts), Grad Dip Ed (Secondary Art) and an Advanced Diploma (Graphic Design). Shannon loves to encourage people to express themselves through the visual arts. She lives with her husband, three delightful daughters and kelpie Hugo in a heritage house that has been in her family for over 100 years!
