The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) has conditionally approved a clearing permit for native vegetation at John Connell Reserve – east of the existing playing fields and as described in the FAQ’s section of the Melville Talks page for the John Connell Reserve Master Plan. The clearing permit is currently subject to a 21-day appeals process that commenced from the date of notification to the applicant (30 June 2025).
