DA-2023-30 Proposed Tennis Court Lighting - 30 The Strand, Applecross

The City engaged with the broader public via the City of Melville website. The application was advertised via two signs on-site and letters sent to the adjoining property owners and residents.

Comments could be made by 4.00pm, Monday 13 February 2023, via one of the following:

• In person: City of Melville, Civic Centre,10 Almondbury Road, Booragoon

A summary of the relevant planning concerns will be provided to the DBCA for their consideration.

This application has been referred to the City by the DBCA for comment.

Given the location of the proposal, the decision maker for this application is the Minister for Environment under the Swan and Canning Rivers Management Act 2006. 

The proposed development is located on the MRS Parks and Recreation zoned land.

The City responsibility therefore is to provide the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) with a referral response as required for a Part 5 application under the Swan and Canning Rivers Management Act.  

The City is not the decision maker of this application. 

As per the City of Melville's Local Planning Policy 1.1 - Planning Process and Decision Making, the City is seeking comments on the proposal in terms of possible impacts on adjoining owners and occupiers.

Comments from the consultation have been considered and taken into account with the City's recommendation (including summarising the submissions received) to the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.
