Writing Rebels, Rogues and Rascals
Writing rebels, rogues and rascals: a workshop for teen writers passionate about crafting original stories centred on compelling characters.
In this workshop, creative team Vincenzo Perrella and Dan Osborn will delve into their unique collaborative process and unpack techniques they used to develop their upcoming young adult dystopian satire, Old Bertie. They’ll also explore on insights they gained as TV screenwriters.
They’ll cover power dynamics, world building and dramatic stakes as the ways into writing compelling, character-driven scenes and stories, and will explore the role of humour, satire and voice in making stories unique.
The session will involve a range of practical activities as well as time for attendees to generate new ideas, and craft original scenes in a supportive environment. PLUS PIZZA!
