Discover the quiet enjoyment of slow stitching.
This workshop is designed for beginners or anyone wanting to take time out to explore stitching in a relaxed and supportive environment - no experience required. The emphasis is on slowing down, enjoying the process, and allowing space for creativity and discovery rather than working towards a finished product.
In this interactive session, we’ll look at examples of hand stitching and explore a small range of stitches in a way that feels natural and easy to follow. Working at your own pace, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with different threads and combine a variety of fabrics and textures to see where your creativity takes you, without pressure to finish. You’ll learn simple techniques that you can return to whenever you need a moment to slow down.
What you’ll get:
• All workshop materials (including needles, threads and fabric)
• Basic stitching notes
• Ideas and inspiration from not only your facilitator Elise, but from others in the room — you’ll find this part invaluable!
What to bring:
· Nothing required - all materials are provided.
· Optional: small pieces of fabric or thread you’d like to include (if you have a certain colour scheme to consider).
· Your imagination and willingness to have a go!
