October is for the birds! Learn how to get birds into your garden this year with Dr Rochelle Steven, the bird expert!

Join Dr Rochelle Steven as she guides you through practical steps and tips on designing a garden that attracts and supports local bird populations. Learn about the best plants, trees, and shrubs to include in your garden, as well as how to create safe, welcoming spaces for birds to feed, nest, and thrive.

Whether you're an experienced gardener or a beginner, this workshop is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their outdoor space and contribute to local biodiversity. You'll leave with a wealth of knowledge and actionable ideas to create a vibrant, bird-friendly environment.

Type of event and expectations

Adult learning space - Guests are requested to turn phones to silent, where possible, remain seated for the duration of the event, be respectful to facilitator and attendees alike and exit discreetly when needed. Guests assume responsibility for their own safety. This event is not suitable for children.

Please consider using public transportation. A bus stop, just a 2-minute walk away, is conveniently located near EcoHub and services multiple routes.

EcoHub is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in the Piney Lakes Reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Hwy across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark.

Bring the following items in household quantities for recycling at EcoHub when you attend: household batteries, printer cartridges, light globes, mobile phones and chargers, plastic bread tags, oral care products, plastic bottle lids, metal bottle lids, beer can clips and corks.
