The City of Melville has a number of reserves suitable for large or small private functions. So whether it’s for your birthday, a child’s birthday party, family reunions or an organised gathering, we have plentiful spaces for you to choose from.
We wish to encourage as many bookings, functions and community gatherings as possible as these create opportunites for people to come together, share experiences and build social connection. It is also important for approvals to be obtained prior to use, as we prioritise a safe and successful booking to take place.

Types of Activities that are considered an Event
We understand our residents, not-for-profit organisations or volunteer groups may want to hold bigger events to attract the community for social connection, promotion and creating a sense of belonging.
However, there are some activities and gatherings which are classified as an "Event" and need further assessment.
Examples may include:
- Large public events
- Activities requiring road closures
- Amusement rides
- Structures or staging
- Sale of food or alcohol
- High-risk activities
