Free Wi-Fi, public computers, training, and community facilities are available across our libraries. 

Free public access computers are available at:

Free public Wi-Fi is available at all libraries. To connect:

  • On your device, connect to the melvillewifi network
  • Accept the conditions of use.

Sessions last up to four hours, and you can reconnect if you need more time.

Printing, scanning and laminating services are available for a small fee at:

  • AH Bracks Library
  • Bull Creek Library

We offer free technology training sessions to help you build confidence using computers, smartphones, tablets, and online services.

Meeting rooms are available in the LeisureFit Melville / AH Bracks Library + Creative Space building.

Bookings are managed by the team at LeisureFit Melville.

  • Boab Tree Café (inside Civic Square Library)
  • Renz Café (outside AH Bracks Library + Creative Space)

These cafés are independently operated and have different opening hours to the libraries.

Tax Help (August to October)

Free assistance with simple tax returns is available from Tax Help volunteers at Civic Square Library in Booragoon from August to October each year.

To use the Tax Help service you must:

  • Earn $70,000 or less
  • Have simple tax affairs

Home delivery service

If you can’t get to the library due to illness, injury, or mobility issues, we may be able to deliver library materials directly to your home. Available items include books, audiobooks, magazines, and DVDs.

This service is available to eligible City of Melville residents.

Energy audit kits

Borrow a free do-it-yourself home energy audit kit from any of our libraries. Each kit contains:

  • A thermal imaging camera to identify draughts, gaps in insulation and more.
  • A Power-Mate to measure the energy consumption of appliances.
  • A basin flow measuring cup to check the water flow rate from tapware.
  • A thermometer to test the temperature of rooms, fridges, and freezers.
  • A simple manual with clear instructions, plus an equipment checklist and other useful resources.

This initiative is part of a pilot program delivered in partnership with the Western Australian Government, Switch Your Thinking and Energy Policy WA.

Kits are available to library members aged 18 and older. Book online or contact us for more information.

Volunteer at the library

Volunteering opportunities are available across our libraries, with duties including:

  • Shelving library resources
  • Selecting items for home delivery members
  • Preparing Storytime craft
  • Cleaning DVDs and audio discs
  • Basic technology help

Justice of the Peace

A volunteer Justice of the Peace (JP) is regularly available at Bull Creek Library to witness documents for official legal purposes.

Availability

Mondays4.30pm to 6.30pm | Weekly
Saturdays9.00am to 10.00am | Fortnightly, from 10 January 2026

No booking is needed, however there may be some occasions when the JP is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances. We recommend calling ahead on 08 9364 0150 to confirm attendance.

  • Search for titles in your preferred language by using Advanced Search in our catalogue and selecting a Language under the Additional limits heading.
  • If you can’t find the language or title you are looking for, the State Library catalogue offers a wider range of languages and titles, which you may be able to request via interlibrary loan.
