Junior Triathlon Academy

Junior Triathlon Academy provides an opportunity for eligible juniors aged seven to 16 years to train for triathlon, duathlon and solo events.

All new swimmers are required to book a complimentary swim assessment. Assessments run every Tuesday from 4.30pm. Book an Academy swim assessment

  • Swim session - Monday at 6.00pm
  • Run session - Tuesday at 5.15pm
  • Indoor cycle session - alternate Wednesdays at 5.15pm
  • Outdoor cycle session - alternate Wednesdays at 5.00pm
  • Includes unlimited access to our pools at LeisureFit Booragoon
  • $39.90 per fortnight

Junior Duo Academy's

Junior Duo Academy's are designed for participants who prefer to focus on a couple of training aspects of the sport of triathlon, with the option of Swim/Run, Swim/Cycle or Run/Cycle.

All new swimmers are required to book a complimentary swim assessment. Assessments run every Tuesday from 4.30pm. Book an Academy swim assessment

  • Swim session - Monday at 6.00pm

  • $33.20 per fortnight

Junior Run Academy

Junior Run Academy focuses solely on the development and technique aspects to running. No assessment is required prior to enrolment.

  • Run session - Tuesday at 5.15pm
  • $20.80 per fortnight

Junior Cycle Academy

Junior Cycle Academy focuses solely on learning the fundamentals, whilst improving the fitness and endurance associated with cycling. No assessment is required prior to enrolment. Led by experienced coaches, the Junior Cycle Academy promotes a positive and supportive environment, helping young riders gain confidence, build friendships and cultivate a love for cycling.

Junior Triathlon School Holiday Camps

Run, cycle, swim at our Junior Triathlon School Holiday Camp for children aged seven to 16 years. This program offers an introduction to the three components of triathlon training, whilst also providing an opportunity to learn more about the sport of triathlon.

Athletes need to provide their own bike across all camp days. Athletes are required to be at a minimum LeisureFit Swim School Level 10 or Ed Department Stage 8 to be able to sign-up.

Junior Triathlon School Holiday Camp will return in the April school holidays. Stay tuned for dates.
Additional Information

Equipment required:

  • Swimming bathers, goggles, swim cap (Triathlon Academy only)
  • Bicycle (any) and bike helmet (outdoor cycle session only)
  • Running shoes, t-shirt/singlet and shorts/leggings
  • Hat, water bottle and towel

    Michael (TWA Accredited) has been a part of the LeisureFit team for over 10 years. Michael is a Level 2 Triathlon Professional Development Coach and is currently working towards his Level 3 Performance Coach accreditation. Coaching kids initially in our Swim School program, Michael brings his love for competing and coaching kids to our Triathlon Academy. Michael has competed in the 2019 Ironman 70.3 World Championships (Nice, France) and became State Champion in Standard Distance, finishing off with Triathlete of the Year for 2019/2020. Michael specialises in long distance running and is passionate about helping his junior athletes develop both personally and competitively.

    Jacinta (TWA Accredited) is a Level two Triathlon Professional Development Coach. Jacinta joined our Academy in 2019 and has been teaching swimming to children for almost a decade. Jacinta has seen some immediate success in her team, with several kids competing at a State ‘School Sports’ Representatives level, as well as a silver medal in the inter-school state running event. Jacinta is a State Champion in Duathlon, Gold medallist in Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, competed in four half Iron Man events, reaching the podium, and also competed in the World Championships for Duathlons and Olympic distance. Jacinta specialises in mid-distance running and is enthusiastic in teaching correct techniques both in the wet and dry side of Triathlon training.

    Tennille is a dedicated endurance athlete with a strong background in running and swimming and has been part of our Junior Triathlon Academy since 2022. With a lifelong passion for sport and fitness, Tennille brings focus, discipline and a deep understanding of endurance training, particularly in long- distance running. Tennille promotes the benefits of running, swimming and cycling for overall athletic performance and is passionate about inspiring others to stay active and enjoy the lifelong rewards of fitness.

    Abi (TWA Accredited) joined our LeisureFit team in early 2025 with the re-opening of our pools. Abi is an Triathlon Australia Foundation coach and brings experience in coaching both beginner triathletes and half iron man athletes. A passionate athlete herself, Abi specialises in open water swimming with experience in completing events including Rottnest, Trans Cape SwimRun and Busselton Jetty . Abi is working towards completing her first half Ironman event and thrives on helping others reach their personal best. She’s technique-driven, energetic, and fully focused on creating a supportive and motivating environment for all participants, whether they’re training for competition or just starting their fitness journey. Abi’s love for coaching extends beyond triathlon; she’s also part of our Swim School team, where she enjoys teaching swimmers of all ages, from babies taking their first splash to adults refining their strokes.
