Byte-Size Beginnings: Technology Storytime - Quality Media

+ Add to calendar

17 November 2026

Dive in to a hands-on technology Storytime for children aged 3–5 years and their families at AH Bracks Library + Creative Space.

Discover how technology can inspire creativity, imagination, and storytelling while supporting your child's early learning. Each session explores a different interactive tech tool through stories, play, and creative activities that help build literacy, language, motor, and early STEAM skills.

Designed for parents and caregivers as well as children, Byte-Size Beginnings also demonstrates how digital technology can be a positive, purposeful part of family learning and provides ideas for choosing age-appropriate digital resources. Join us each week to explore, create, play, and learn together.

Week 5: Quality Media

Technology can be a powerful tool for creativity, storytelling, and learning when used with purpose. In this session, families will explore a range of age-appropriate apps and digital resources that encourage literacy, creativity, and shared play, while modelling positive screen use that can continue at home. Parents and caregivers will also hear from Meerilinga Parenting Services about their Early Start Screen Smart program, with practical tips and evidence-based guidance to help families build healthy, balanced digital habits from an early age.

Byte-Size Beginnings is a unique Storytime program that combines reading, singing, and hands-on technology-based learning through play, designed for families with children aged 3-5.

These sessions were made possible by the WA State Government, State Library of Western Australia, and Better Beginnings.
