Repair Lab is a free community drop in event to help people fix their belongings and save things from going to landfill. Skilled volunteers help people with repairs of bicycles, electrical appliances, household items and textiles.
Duties may include: - Repairing broken items
- Answering questions and directing people
- Setting up and packing down the event
If you enjoy crafting with textiles (crochet, sewing, embroidery, etc) and socialising with likeminded people, this group is for you! The City is seeking a mentor for the textile arts club, a free inclusive monthly social group for people who enjoy textile crafts ranging from beginners to experienced. Mentors should have experience in teaching textiles skills and will guide, share, help and troubleshoot (as required) on individual and group projects.
The community bus service has been operating for over 20 years! City of Melville own and operate the vehicles and Melville Cares coordinate the bookings and volunteer drivers.
The purpose of the service is to support groups and individuals who experience challenges accessing transport to participate in activities and experience a sense of belonging to enhance their quality of life. Not-for-profit groups who offer services to our community members book the buses to take their members on outings and to activities.
Volunteer drivers are sought for the service. We are open to be flexible with your availability and keen to support your application to volunteer.
