Civil Construction 2025-2026

Blue Gum Car Park Rehabilitation

The City will be rehabilitating the car park at the Blue Gum Recreation Centre, following the completion of building refurbishment works. The works will involve pavement repair, replacement of kerbs, renewal of footpaths, and asphalt resurfacing to the entire car park at the end of the project. Works will be undertaken in a staged manner to manage car park demand.

The works are expected to take 6–8 weeks to complete.

Project completed.

Tree planting will commence in June 2026.

Mitchell Street Traffic Calming

The City will be installing two traffic-calming devices on Mitchell Street, adjacent to Shirley Strickland Reserve, to help reduce vehicle speeds and improve pedestrian safety.

Asphalt works were completed on Friday, 28 November 2025.

Installation of signs and pavement markings by Main Roads WA is now pending.

Preston Point Road & Point Walter Road – National Black Spot Project

The City has successfully secured National Black Spot funding to upgrade the intersection of Preston Point Road and Point Walter Road. To improve road safety at the intersection, the City will be installing speed control devices on the approaches to the roundabout.

Works are expected to take two weeks to complete.

The asphalt and civil works have been completed.

The installation of signs and pavement markings by Main Roads WA is now pending.

Preston Point Road & Stock Road – State Black Spot Project Stage 2

The City has successfully secured State Black Spot funding to upgrade the intersection of Preston Point Road and Stock Road. The improvements will involve the installation of raised speed control devices on three intersection approaches to reduce speed and enhance road safety.

Asphalt works are scheduled for Wednesday, 21 January 2026.

Murdoch Drive, MurdochThis project consists of profiling and renewal of the asphalt wearing course, comprising a two-layer asphalt treatment on both carriageways of Murdoch Drive between Barry Marshall Parade and Bramantii Road, Murdoch. The works are extensive and will be carried out over eighteen night shifts.

Night works commenced Friday, 24 November 2025, and are scheduled for completion Tuesday, 16 December 2025.

Southbound carriageway resurfacing was completed on Tuesday, 2 December 2025.

Northbound carriageway resurfacing is scheduled to commence Wednesday, 3 December 2025.

Road Sweeping
