The City wishes to clarify information relating to temporary construction tape that recently appeared around works associated with the Tompkins Park Floodlighting Project.
The tape contained the wording 'Asbestos Dust'. Following investigation, the City's contractor has confirmed that no asbestos is present at this location and that neither the City nor the contractor was responsible for installing the tape.
The tape was removed as soon as the matter was brought to the City's attention.
The City acknowledges that the wording on the tape may have caused concern within the community and regrets any confusion or anxiety this may have created.
