City of Melville Active Reserves

An active reserve, also known as a sporting reserve is used for structured team sports. Active reserves also include so-called passive areas such as verges, bush land, sumps and playgrounds and may also be called ‘Parks’. e.g Winthrop Park.

Whilst majority of their use is for community sport, they also provide a variety of other recreational activities for the local communities they serve.

All active reserves are accessible to the public, however, priority access remains with our registered sporting clubs who hold ground allocation approval.
