hoopla

hoopla is a free digital media service for City of Melville library members that allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, books, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, or phone – and even your TV!

Titles can be streamed immediately, or downloaded to phones or tablets for offline enjoyment later. There are hundreds of thousands of titles to choose from, with more being added daily.

hoopla Kids Mode

hoopla Kids Mode is a kid friendly setting for finding videos, music and books. To turn kids mode on or off, just look for the KIDS button at the top of the screen and select it to toggle on or off.

Please note: Video streaming and downloading services use more internet data than typical web browsing, please check your data allowances before viewing. We recommend connecting to wifi when viewing videos on your mobile device.

Want to read on your eBook reader?
hoopla titles cannot be transferred to an eReader device (e.g. Kobo). If you're looking for eBooks that can be transferred to your eReader, try OverDrive and Libby, BorrowBox or ePlatform. Please be aware that Kindle devices are not currently compatible with library eBook services in Australia due to Amazon licensing issues.
