Active in the Park is back in action!

Our FREE classes have started again and we're super-excited to get outdoors, active and safely spaced.

Check out our class descriptions and times below to find an activity that suits you!

Class Descriptions

Active with a Bark

Fitness has never been so much furry fun!

Are you a dog owner wanting to join a fitness class but feel guilty leaving your pooch at home? Do you love exercising and dogs but don't have a dog? Would you like to combine both these passions and have lots of laughs?

These classes involve a variety of bodyweight exercises and low impact moves. Your furry friend must be well socialised and remain on a lead during the class. Please bring a mat and water bottle.

There are two sessions running at Shirley Strickland Reserve, Mount Pleasant.

  • Tuesday, 12 January 2021, 8.30am - 9.15am
  • Tuesday, 19 January 2021, 8.30am - 9.15am

Seniors participating in Active Light

Active Light

Basic, low impact moves for those starting out or wanting a simple, fun class. Perfect for seniors!

Active Light runs outdoors at Jeff Joseph Reserve, Applecross. 

  • Class runs on Tuesdays, 8.30am to 9.15am
  • Classes resume on Tuesday, 2 February 2021

Functional Fitness

A variety of bodyweight and core exercises to strengthen and tone the entire body. Perfect for all ages!

Functional Fitness runs outdoors at Tompkins Park, next to Dunkley Avenue car park. 

  • This class runs on Mondays, 6.00pm to 6.45pm
  • Classes resume on Monday, 1 February 2021
Young children participating in Tunes for Tots

Tunes For Tots

Dance, move, sing songs and have some fun with your little one. This class is suitable for children aged 2 years+.

Tunes for Tots runs outdoors at Point Walter (foreshore area) on the grassed area near the cafe.

  • This class runs on Wednesdays, 9.30 to 10.00am
Group of people participating in Yoga

Yoga

 

Stretch and strengthen all parts of the body. Yoga helps improve posture, balance and flexibility. Don't forget to bring your Yoga mat. This class caters to all fitness levels, from beginners to seasoned Yogis.

 

Yoga runs outdoors at Point Walter (top) adjacent to the Tennis Courts. 

  • This class runs on Saturdays at 7.15am to 8.00am.
  • Classes resume on Saturday, 6 February 2021
  • Please bring your own yoga mat to class

Information About Inclement Weather

Please note that classes will not run if the temperature exceeds 35°C, and they may be cancelled if it rains.
