My Way – healthier living that works for you

My Way is a small supportive group program, run by the City of Melville in partnership with LeisureFit Recreation Centres. My Way is designed to help City of Melville residents of all ages develop lifelong eating and exercise habits to achieve a healthier, more active lifestyle.

The program aims to:

  • Help improve your understanding about dietary fads, weight loss myths and misconceptions
  • Support you to adopt a more active lifestyle and participate in regular physical activity
  • Better understand the underlying issues and influences on eating behaviour and physical activity participation
  • Promote other healthy lifestyle successes other than weight loss
  • Help you find your healthy lifestyle Mojo!

What does the program look like?

  • 45 minute low impact exercise followed by a 45 minute workshop discussion focused on healthy lifestyle choices
  • Everyone sets their own goals and it’s our job to help you work towards them. Hence our program name ‘My Way’!  Sessions are interactive, inclusive and supportive. We want you to have fun and support each other as a group
  • The majority of our information and resources will be sourced from LiveLighter which is a public health education program, developed in WA to help people lead healthier lifestyles. The website has lots of information, tips, workout guides and recipes to help you on your healthy lifestyle journey; and we will be there to support you and keep you motivated!
  • Program cost is $120.00. ActiveLink vouchers may also be available for eligible residents
