Exercise - a silver bullet for health?

Being physically  active every day can help improve your health at any age and reduce the risk of developing diseases like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer. Regular exercise also helps with the management of cancer and its recurrence. A minimum of 30 minutes a day can give you these benefits.

Did you know?

  • More than a third of Australians aged 15 and over do little or no exercise.
  • Two in three (67%) of adults were overweight or obese in 2017-2018.
  • One in four (25%) of children and adolescents aged 2 to 17 were overweight or obese in 2017-2018.
  • Being regularly active can reduce cardiovascular related disease by up to 36%.

It's never too late to get active!

Why not use your FREE LeisureFit passes to get started on your active journey? If you're over 45 and haven't exercised much before, it's a good idea to see you doctor before starting an exercise program.
