Notice of Intention to Levy Differential Rates 2026/2027

The City of Melville is in the process of finalising it’s Annual Budget for the 2026-2027 financial year. The proposed rates for 2026-2027 equates to an annual increase of 5% in rate revenue for improved land and 8% for unimproved land.

The funding proposals include the following principles in relation to each rating category for differential rates and minimum rates.

A Statement of Objects and Reasons for adopting these differential rates has been prepared and is available on our website at www.melvillecity.com.au/differentialrates.

It is also available for inspection at the Civic Centre, 10 Almondbury Road, Booragoon and at the City of Melville libraries during opening hours.

Submissions are invited from any elector or ratepayer with respect to the proposed differential rating categories, and any related matters within twenty one days of the date of this notice. Submissions should be made at www.melvillecity.com.au/differential rates or sent to City of Melville Locked Bag 1 Booragoon WA 6954 and clearly marked Submission Re Differential Rating.

All submissions should be received by no later than 4.00pm Friday 5 June 2026.
