We received 774 valid submissions, with 72.2% of respondents supporting the proposal. This is above the required 50% support threshold, which means the project can now move to the next stage.
Western Power will soon begin detailed design for the project. This will help provide residents with a more accurate cost estimate.
Once the design work is complete, the City and Western Power will finalise a co-funding agreement. Construction is currently expected to begin in 2028 and take around 25 months to complete.
