The Melville Art Awards are back for 2026, celebrating a special milestone: 50 years of showcasing Western Australian artistic talent.   

Open to emerging and established West Australian visual artists, the Award welcomes entries across all mediums, including 2D, 3D and digital works.  

As one of the City’s flagship cultural programs, the Melville Art Awards have played a vital role in building the City of Melville Art Collection, with the overall acquisitive winning artwork added to the collection each year. 

The Melville Art Awards have a long history of featuring a spectacular display of creativity from across Western Australia, proudly placing art and community centre stage. Whether you're an artist, an art lover, or just looking to try something new - you're invited to experience this inspiring celebration.

What to Expect

The Melville Art Awards exhibition is held at the beautiful Main Hall at Melville Civic Centre. Visitors to the exhibition can expect a wide-variety of works on display, from colour-soaked paintings to evocative photographs, and delicate ceramic vessels.

• The exhibition is family-friendly and free to attend.
• Artworks are for sale throughout the exhibition, with no commission taken, it is an excellent opportunity to purchase incredible artworks and support the artists.
