Special notice about eBooks and eAudiobooks

Help out your fellow library members! Return digital items as soon as you’ve finished reading them.

At the present time, more and more library users are turning to our eLibrary to access eBooks and audiobooks. That's fantastic!

Even though these items are digital, they are still a shared resource just like our physical books. These digital items are automatically returned when your lending period has concluded. They will then be available for the next person to borrow.

If you finish a title before your lending period is up, or find you’ve borrowed something that you’re not that into, please use the  “return” option so that other readers (or listeners) can access it sooner.

Ebook Central (Non-Fiction eBooks)

If you can't find the non-fiction eBook you're looking for in the City of Melville Libraries catalogue, you may want to try Ebook Central (EBL). The State Library of WA provides access to this collection of over 200,000 titles across a wide range of subjects.

You will need to be a member of the State Library to use Ebook Central. Any WA resident can join. An online membership form is available although you will also need to supply proof of name and address. Contact the State Library for alternative ways to submit identification if you find it inconvenient to visit their building in Northbridge.

Please note: Kindle e-readers are not currently compatible with library eBook services in Australia due to Amazon licensing issues.
