Story Box Library

Story Box Library connects children with 178 Australian books read by some of Australia's finest storytellers. The stories are a little bit cheeky, a little bit charming and a whole lot of fun! Each video features a title being read and gives children a vibrant, interactive experience. You can select stories by age group, theme, author/illustrator and reader.

To get started, enter your City of Melville Libraries card number and then click the LOG IN button. If you are using Story Box from within any of the City of Melville libraries, you will need to select "State Library of WA" from the dropdown list of libraries before entering your card number.

OverDrive for Kids

OverDrive for Kids is a section of OverDrive where kids can browse, sample, place holds and borrow eBooks appropriate for their age range and reading level. No adult content will appear in the search results.

Busythings

Busythings is an online resource for the early years that includes 115+ fun learning activities that help children learn important skills in the key learning areas of creative development, problem solving, reasoning, numeracy, communication, language and literacy and knowledge and understanding of the world.

Rainforest Coding

Rainforest Coding is an interactive adventure that takes place on the beautiful Echo Island, part of the Crystal Rainforest. Things suddenly turn very ugly for the scientists living on the island when it is attacked by hundreds of evil robots. Can the children help Doctor Han find her way around the old temples, removing the robots in her way? Can they discover what is going on and who is behind the attacks? Will they be able to rescue the other scientist imprisoned by the robots? Suitable for five years and up.

SwopBots

SwopBots is a puzzle game involving brother and sister Loop and Switch and their SwopBots friends crashing on an isolated alien planet. Using Scratch coding, children must deploy tactics to help them uncover the terrible secret lurking beneath the planet and repair their damaged ship. Along the way they will need to use all their coding and problem solving skills to overcome a variety of logic puzzles. SwopBots is a fun and highly motivational way to get children thinking about code and solving puzzles. Suitable for eight years and up.

Kanopy Kids

Kanopy Kids is a section of Kanopy dedicated to children’s programming. Parents can browse educational and engaging videos for children of all ages that promote positive social and emotional development and inspire creativity in young minds. Kanopy has partnered with Common Sense Media™ to provide developmentally appropriate age ratings for videos on Kanopy Kids.
