Have you dreamt of walking the Camino? Join Dr David Lamb as he shares his personal experiences and reflections as well as practical tips and guidance on planning and completing the walk.

The Portuguese Camino is composed of a number of walking routes, including the Central route, the Coastal route, the Litoral route and the Spiritual route. This talk will focus on the lesser known, quieter and flatter route that closely follows the coastline of north Portugal and Spain (Litoral Route) which is a 280 km walk commencing in Porto (a magnificent cathedral city) and finishing in Santiago de Compostela (world heritage city).

About the presenter:

David is a senior academic and has worked in several universities in the UK, NZ and Australia. He has walked a number of Camino routes in Europe and recently (May 2025) completed the Litoral route of the Portuguese Camino. This talk will share his personal experiences and reflections of this walk and provide a number of practical tips and guidance on planning and completing the walk. This could be for spiritual or religious reasons, physical and mental health and fitness. For example, to de-stress, take time out from the pressures of everyday life and provide critical time to think.
