Discover #creativemelville and explore more than 36 studios, galleries, creative spaces and Artist Run Initiatives when they open their doors on Saturday, 8 September and Sunday, 9 September for the second annual City of Melville Open Studios and Exhibitions Art Trail.

The event, which debuted last year, showcases the many artists and creatives who live or work within the City, offering the community a chance to see artists at work, participate in art activities and purchase art from local residents

Accessibility: Most public locations, galleries, and business locations are accessible, however a number of the private artist’s studios (which are not usually open to the public) may have limited access, please email us on arts@melville.wa.gov.au for further details.

Hands on Art Activities and Things To Do

Palmyra Farmers Market – artists, craftspeople, designers and gourmet producers selling their wares

Atwell House Arts Centre and Gallery - See a Raku pottery firing at 10am and 2pm on Saturday, try your hand on a pottery wheel on Sunday. A live clothed model will be in the gallery and anyone is welcome to join in to draw, and join in an Art Walk and afternoon tea on Sunday at 1pm

Embroiderers Guild of WA – Try your hand at various stitching techniques

Applecross Art & Framers – See demonstrations by artist Liz Gray - Saturday, 8th September | 11am – 1pm  and  artist Rui Zhi Bian - Sunday, 9th September | 12 - 2pm

Jacksons Alfred Cove – Artists demonstrations on Saturday including Jamie Wyatt & Cielito Marbus at 10am, Peta Zeller at 11am, & Samantha Hughes at 12 noon

Food and Drink
