In this 1.5-hour hands-on workshop by Donut Waste, participants will learn how to make their own sustainable, plastic-free deodorant—perfect for a thoughtful Christmas or birthday gift! Making your own deodorant not only saves money, but it’s healthier for your body, reduces packaging waste, and, best of all, it works!

The session will cover the benefits of homemade skincare products as a natural, eco-friendly, and cost-effective alternative to store-bought options. You’ll also receive a presentation on materials, best practices, and tips on how to sustainably source ingredients locally.

What’s included:

  • A 30 ml tin of your very own deodorant to take home
  • All materials provided
  • A handout with the recipe to recreate it on your own

Type of event and expectations

Adult workshop space - Guests are expected to follow instructions of the program facilitator, be respectful at all times and assume responsibility for their own safety.

All teenage participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This workshop is not suitable for children.

Sitting available for duration of workshop.

Disabled parking is available at front of Centre, rooms are located on multiple levels via a ramp and toilets are available within the venue. For specific access requirements please feel free to call or email the centre at (08)9364 0191 or piney.lakes@melville.wa.gov.au

Directions to centre

Please consider using public transportation. A bus stop, just a 2-minute walk away, is conveniently located near the Centre and services multiple routes.

The Centre is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in the Piney Lakes reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Hwy across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark.

Bring the following items for recycling at Piney Lakes when you attend a workshop: household batteries, printer cartridges, light globes, mobile phones and chargers, writing instruments, plastic bread tags, oral care products, and plastic bottle lids.
