The Symposium aims to bring people together from around Western Australia who are engaged in all aspects of the new economy, including: cooperatives, sharing projects, circular economy, renewable energy, sustainable food systems, affordable housing, ecological economics, sustainable transport, community banking and other issues. Over two days on 24th and 25th of August the Symposium will :

- Help people network and build the new economy community in Western Australia

- Connect the dots between existing initiatives and help everyone find common ground and common strategies

- Be a precursor to the 2019 Annual New Economy Conference, which is being held in Perth. Following on from events in Sydney (2016), Brisbane (2017) and Melbourne (October 2018), the 2019 NENA annual Conference is scheduled for Perth in Sept/Oct 2019. As such, this year’s event aims to build interest and act as a testbed for ideas.
