Bring your plastic bottle tops, bread tags, ring-pulls and other items for recycling at this monthly community event at the City of Melville EcoHub. Bottle Top Hill (BTH) is a not-for-profit, 100% volunteer-run event focusing on items which ARE recyclable but cannot go in your yellow-lidded recycling bin because they’re too small. We make sure these items are part of a circular economy by avoiding sending them to landfill or incineration, or ending up as litter.

Items we accept (please separate them prior to arrival):

  • All plastic bottle tops (leave in the foam insert. Remove any cardboard or aluminium)
  • Plastic bread tags (no cardboard)
  • Plastic beer can clips/holders
  • Plastic contact lens cases
  • Plastic eye drop ampoules
  • Plastic cards (wallet size, clean)
  • Plastic straws (clean)
  • Plastic shoyu-tai (aka soy-sauce sushi fish, clean)
  • Plastic trigger pumps (metal/springs must be removed prior)
  • Small steel / aluminium bottle tops & lids
  • Aluminium can ring pulls
  • Corks
  • Oral care waste
  • Razors (disposable)
  • Medicinal asthma inhalers (dry powder inhalers not accepted)
  • Medical blister packs (fees apply)
  • Pens, highlighters, markers (no pencils)
  • We are a public donation point for GIVE WRITE

Also at the EcoHub is a receptacle to drop off household batteries, light bulbs, printer cartridges and mobile phones and their chargers.

Your kind donation is appreciated: a small donation at the door helps keep our event going while your attendance keeps our volunteers motivated! Any support is greatly appreciated.

Our group provides a community service to help care for Country and bring awareness to the benefits of waste avoidance, resource recovery and sustainability through our participation in the BTH 12R's® program.

At Bottle Top Hill, we embrace the message of Act-Belong-Commit. Thank you for supporting our volunteers; joined by members of local branches of Girl Guides WA, the CWA of WA Melville/Fremantle Branch, special guests & other wonderfully dedicated members of our broader community.

The Bottle Top Hill Volunteers look forward to welcoming you into our growing community of committed and caring citizens, who together, create change.
