How could western painting ever be compared with Aboriginal rock art - aren’t they just too different?

In this lecture Emeritus Professor Richard Read suggests that their point of comparison is how they frame - or refuse to frame - the worlds they picture. The talk begins with some of the disastrous consequences that arise from the framing habits of Europeans when they first encountered the glories of Aboriginal art.

Morning tea will be provided.
