Pack a picnic, head to Wireless Hill and join us for the Safe Day on the Hill community event!

Find out how to keep your home, car and neighbourhood safe through a range of stalls and activities including Kidsafe WA, Safer Melville and Murdoch Fire Station.  Enjoy everything Wireless Hill has to offer and pick up some safety tips along the way.  There will be plenty of fun for the kiddies with story time sessions, sport activities and Bunnings Melville providing DIY kids workshops on site!

Plus! Enjoy a cup of Devonshire tea served by Antiquitea on their beautiful vintage china tea sets. Bookings essential and costs apply for Wireless Hill Pop Up Tea Room.

Event Schedule

10.00am - 2.00pm
  • Bunnings Melville – pot your own plant at this DIY kids workshop
  • Safer Melville – pick up some information resources, meet a Community Safety Service (CSS) officer, and colour in or complete a safety activity sheet
  • Kidsafe WA – pick up some information resources, colour in and complete the poisons activity
  • Tractor station – get a photo in a real tractor!
  • Bike station – ride to the event or bring your bike along to have it checked by ‘People on Bicycles’.  They can make minor adjustments of brakes, pump up your tyres and grease your chain. Those without bicycles can have a chat about safe riding tips for families; including how to ride together safely
  • Southern Metropolitan Regional Council (SMRC) – pick up some information resources and have a go sorting waste into the correct FOGO bin
  • Antiquitea – enjoy a Devonshire tea at the pop up tea room (bookings essential and fees apply)
  • Coffee van – buy a coffee and wander through the event
  • Libraries - Chill out in the museum and play with some LEGO® or read a book
10.00am - 12.00pm
  • Murdoch Fire Station – Hop on a fire truck, spray the hose and meet your local fire fighters  (involvement depends on emergencies or operational requirements on the day)
  • Leisure Fit – Have a go at basketball, netball, soccer and multi-sports run by Leisure Fit kids sport coaches (suitable for ages 3 – 12 years)
  • Sit in on a story time session where our wonderful presenters will be sharing their favourite books. Children from zero to 99 welcome!
12.00pm - 2.00pm
  • Ice Cream Van - Buy the kids and yourself an icecream!

In addition to these event activities, Wireless Hill also has a fantastic nature based playground, walking trails, and built in BBQ's for you to explore and enjoy the day!
