Local author Dr Maureen Smith will be presenting a talk on her recently published book on the history of the Caporn and Davis families.

The book takes a look at life in the early days of Melville and Fremantle, including at the Caporn family home in Point Walter in the early 1840s. Maureen has a First Class Honours Degree in Literature, a Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD) and an obvious passion for history.
