About Melville Summer Music

Melville Summer Music brings golden hour concerts to your doorstep from November to March, showcasing the best of Perth's live music across the City of Melville’s most scenic parks.

Pack a picnic or grab a tasty bite from local food trucks and enjoy 10 beautiful shows across five green spaces among friends, family and your local community.

Thanks to major supporter Lotterywest for a grant contribution to Melville Summer Music that helps us build community connections through arts and culture activities.

What to Expect

What to bring
Pack your picnic blanket and favourite snacks or simply enjoy the food trucks at the event, gather friends and family, chairs are welcome, we just ask that you leave space at the front for blankets and dancers.

This is a free event
No need to register, just come along!

Event times
  • 4.30pm - Arrive to settle in and set up your picnic blanket
  • 5.00pm - First artist takes the stage
  • 6.15pm - Second artist begins or second set if only one band
  • 7.00pm - Event ends

Bring your own foodware
Help us make our events sustainable and help care for our open spaces by bringing your own plates, cups and cutlery. When the fun wraps up, please take your waste with you. Together, we can keep our parks clean and green for everyone to enjoy!

Atwell House & Gallery Lawn, Alfred Cove - November

Getting there

  • Walk or cycle - get out and about with friends and family to explore the streets of Melville on your way to your local park.
  • Ride share or catch public transport - we suggest planning your route with Transperth Journey Planner.
  • Drive or carpool - limited parking is available at the venue, please see parking information below.

Get directions to Atwell House & Gallery Lawn - 586 Canning Highway, Alfred Cove

Parking

  • ACROD parking and audience set down will be located at the front of Atwell House along with a small amount of general parking. 
  • General parking is available at Melville Bowling Club and Tompkins Park. 
  • Overflow general parking will be located at the rear of Atwell House and the event, accessible through the Melville Bowling Club car park. 

Event Accessibility

  • The event will begin in late afternoon daylight and continue into early evening, though music will finish before full sundown.
  • Music will be amplified.
  • Attendees using the front car park of the event will be required to travel a short distance, along a footpath and then on to a grassed area where the event takes place.
  • Attendees using the general and overflow parking will be required to travel along a bike path, approximately 100m to the event. 
  • The park is predominantly flat with a small amount of sloping grass. 
  • Accessible toilets are available on site, including an additional portable accessible toilet. Both facilities are designed for ease of access, with space for wheelchairs, mobility devices and assistance dogs. They feature grab rails and wider doors for enhanced accessibility. 
  • Food trucks will be located to the left of the stage, a short distance across the grass. 
Yagan Mia Wireless Hill Park, Ardross - December

    Get directions to Yagan Mia Wireless Hill Park - Telefunken Drive, Ardross

    Parking

    • ACROD parking and audience set down will be located behind Wireless Hill Museum and the stage, as you enter the site. 
    • A small amount of general parking is available around the site.
    • Overflow street parking is available along McCallum Crescent and at the nearby Melville Civic Centre, prepare for a short walk. 

    Event Accessibility

    • The event will begin in late afternoon daylight and continue into early evening, though music will finish before full sundown.
    • Music will be amplified.
    • Attendees using ACROD parking or parking at Yagan Mia Wireless Hill Park will be required to travel only a very short distance along the footpath to the staged area.
    • Attendees using the overflow parking will need to travel a short distance to the event along footpaths and gravelled road. 
    • Wireless Hill Park is relatively flat with no significant slopes. 
    • Accessible toilets are available on site, including an additional portable accessible toilet. Both facilities are designed for ease of access, with space for wheelchairs, mobility devices and assistance dogs. They feature grab rails and wider doors for enhanced accessibility. 
    • Food trucks will be located to the right of the stage, only a very short distance away.
    Piney Lakes Reserve, Winthrop - January

    Getting there

      Get directions to Piney Lakes Reserve - off Murdoch Drive, Winthrop (near Piney Lakes Sensory Playground)

      Parking

      • ACROD parking and audience set down will be located in the car park next to the Piney Lakes Sensory Playground with entry off Murdoch Drive. 
      • General parking with be in the Piney Lakes Reserve / Sensory Playground car park, with entry off Murdoch Drive. Please follow traffic warden instructions with overflow car parking on the reserve.

      Event Accessibility

      • The event will begin in late afternoon daylight and continue into early evening, though music will finish before full sundown.
      • Music will be amplified.
      • Attendees using ACROD parking will be required to travel a short distance across the grass to the event. 
      • Attendees using the general and overflow parking will be required to travel a short distance across the grass to the event. 
      • Piney Lakes Reserve is relatively flat with some sloping across the event area. 
      • Accessible toilets are available on site, including an additional portable accessible toilet. Both facilities are designed for ease of access, with space for wheelchairs, mobility devices and assistance dogs. They feature grab rails and wider doors for enhanced accessibility. 
      • Food trucks will be located to the right of the stage, only a very short distance away.
      Centennial Park, Bull Creek - February

      Getting there

        Get Directions to Centennial Park - Corner of Hardy Street & Benningfield Road, Bull Creek

        Parking

        • All parking, including ACROD parking and audience set down will be located at John Creaney Park, with entry off Francisco Crescent. Please follow traffic warden instructions with car parking on the reserve.

        Event Accessibility

        • The event will begin in late afternoon daylight and continue into early evening, though music will finish before full sundown.
        • Music will be amplified.
        • Attendees using ACROD parking and general parking will be required to use the bike path for a short distance to access the event. 
        • Centennial Park is sloped as you approach the stage but remains a flat area around the food trucks and the toilets.  
        • Accessible toilets are available on site, including an additional portable accessible toilet. Both facilities are designed for ease of access, with space for wheelchairs, mobility devices and assistance dogs. They feature grab rails and wider doors for enhanced accessibility. 
        • Food trucks will be located on the side of the event, towards Hardy Street.
        • Both the toilets and food trucks are along the bike path and easily accessible, though there is a small distance between both, approximately 50m. 
        Kadidjiny Park, Melville - March

        Getting there

        Get directions to Kadidjiny Park - Curtis Road, melville

        Parking

        • ACROD parking and audience set down will be located in the car parks along Curtis Road near the Kadidjiny Park amphitheatre.
        • General parking will be available around Kadidjiny Park, and overflow parking can be accessed along Curtis Road at Melville Primary School. Please don't park across any resident driveways or on any lawns or verges.

        Event Accessibility

        • The event will begin in late afternoon daylight and continue into early evening, though music will finish before full sundown.
        • Music will be amplified.
        • Attendees using ACROD parking and general parking will be required to use the bike path for a short distance to access the event. 
        • Kadidjiny Park features a small amphitheatre where the event takes place. The Park has ramps as well as a small number of stairs which are easily accessible for attendees.
        • Accessible toilets are available on site, including an additional portable accessible toilet. Both facilities are designed for ease of access, with space for wheelchairs, mobility devices and assistance dogs. They feature grab rails and wider doors for enhanced accessibility. 
        • Toilets and food trucks will be positioned along the bike path for easier access.
