Tai Chi Group

Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise that helps maintain strength, flexibility, and balance, regulated  breathing and the balance of blood pressure. It can also help to relieve mental fatigue and insomnia. Tai Chi is the perfect activity for the rest of your life.

The Tai Chi group meet every Thursday at the Willagee Community Centre.

Meet Pat Richards, Volunteer Group Leader

Pat facilitates the weekly Tai Chi sessions at Willagee Community centre and has been a volunteer group leader at the Centre for 14 years. Pat got involved in volunteering at the Willagee Community Centre when she moved up from Bunbury and was keen to meet some new friends. Her daughter, who was running computer literacy programs in the community centre at the time, suggested volunteering as a great way to make new social connections and share her skills with people. Pat started soon after and has been happily leading the Tai Chi sessions at the Centre ever since.

Pat says she has made some wonderful friends, some of which are still coming along to the Tai Chi group 14 years on. She has received the Mayors Award for her dedicated volunteering with the City.

Tai Chi takes place at the Willagee Community centre weekly on Thursdays 9.00am to 10.00am.
