Nature Play at Attadale Primary School
Most of us have fond memories of childhood days spent making mud pies and stick forts. Life was simple and fun. We want to make sure your children have this opportunity too through the creation of a new nature play space on the grounds of the Attadale Primary School.
With limited nature based play facilities in the Attadale/Alfred Cove/Bicton area this project will bring these communities together to help create an adventureland for all to enjoy.
Fundraising and planning for this project is being driven by a strong community team (lead by the Attadale Primary School P&C). The play areas will use natural materials such as ropes, rock and wood to encourage creative play and interaction.
We would use the Robin Hood grant to help works on the early stages of development of a nature play space flowing down the slope next to the school oval.
This area is unfenced and easily accessible by anyone in the community outside of school hours - allowing the benefits of nature play to be shared by all in the community and creating a hub for friendships to be formed across the area.
With research showing the importance of play for kids and the value of nature in reducing stress levels in little ones this is a great opportunity to create a local hub of happiness.
“Of all the paths you take in life make sure a few of them are dirt”.
Project Updates
Work is well underway on Attadale Primary's nature playground which was funded as part of Project Robin Hood III.
With the help of some super handy volunteers, this passionate community have already constructed the worlds biggest teepee and a tunnel for sliding down to the oval. It won't be long before it's in full swing and the park will be open for everyone to enjoy so stay tuned for details about the grand opening.
