Background
Clive has lived in the City of Melville for most of his life and since 1975 has resided in Bull Creek. He was educated at the East Fremantle Primary School, John Curtin Senior High School and Curtin University.
He had a long career in the Public Service with the Department of Agriculture and Food. He served in the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps during 1968 and 1969 with active service in South Vietnam.
Professional and Local Government Experience
As a Public Servant with the Department of Agriculture he worked in the Plant Pathology Branch and was commissioned to set up their first, electron microscope In 1984. He was later appointed as Senior Technologist in Charge of the Animal Health Laboratories where he remained until he retired in 2014. His work included roles as Secretary of the Animal Experimentation Ethic Committee and as a member of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee and Institutional Biosafety Committee.
Clive has a long and distinguished career in Local Government as a Councillor at the City of Melville. He served as President of the Local Government Association (LGA) and became State President of the WA Local Government Association (WALGA) shortly after its formation in 2002. He was appointed as a member of the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA) and served on the LG Insurance Scheme (LGIS) Board.
He has served on the Southern Metropolitan Regional Council (13 years), the Municipal Waste Advisory Council (5 years) and the State Government Advisory Council on Waste Management. He represents the City on the Jandakot Airport Community Aviation Consultative Group (CACG).
Awards
Clive is proud to have been awarded the Local Government Medal (LGM) in 2007 for his services to Local Government. In 2010 he was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his services to the community and Local Government.
Interests
Apart from his passion for his family and grandchildren Clive is the State Vice President of the Royal Australian Air Force Association (WA Division) and has a great interest in aged care. He is also involved with the City of Melville Citizens Relief Fund (Inc.) an organisation that provides emergency relief to people of the City of Melville.
