Ballot Paper Name: AUBREY, Russell

Nominating for: Mayor

As your Mayor I've worked hard to keep your rates down and secure Melville's finances. We are now on track to stop rate increases while still providing award-winning services for all our community.

The 3-bin FOGO system will cut waste from landfill, saving you money whilst protecting the environment.

I've worked with the community without fear or favour to improve sporting facilities, reduce crime and support seniors.

I've listened and delivered action, not empty promises - most importantly achieving an unprecedented 100% community satisfaction score.

I remain the only candidate committed to building Roe Highway and upgrading Canning Highway to cut congestion, save lives and improve your property values across the city.

With my proven strong leadership and enthusiasm and with your support I'll keep your council focused on your needs, keeping costs down, delivering value for money services and ensuring Melville continues to be a great place to live.

Ballot Paper Name: GEAR, George

Nominating for: Mayor

Change is urgently needed at the City of Melville. Mired in recent years by infighting, government inquiries and even violence restraining orders, our Council has been making the news for all the wrong reasons. Deeply divided, our Council has lost focus and lost its way.

Let's get back to basics - listening to ratepayers, delivering excellent and cost-effective services, and consulting properly before decisions are made.

If elected, I will advocate for a review of all paid parking, a halt to excessive height and density in the Canning Bridge area, protection of our public open spaces and greater support for local sporting clubs.

I have been a Melville ratepayer for 35 years, a federal parliamentarian for 13, and a federal minister for 3. I have the expertise and work ethic to deliver the cultural change our council desperately needs.

For a better Melville, please vote for me today.

Ballot Paper Name: MAIR, Katy

Nominating for: Mayor

As a current Councillor and former Mayor, I am experienced in both roles and ready to act quickly.

My priorities are to:

•  Limit heights in the Canning Bridge Precinct and across the city to stop overdevelopment in our suburbs

•  Support sports clubs and community groups that promote physical and mental health

•  Keep the Melville Bowling Club in its current location

•  Stop housing developments on Mt Pleasant Bowling Club and Melville Glades Golf Club

•  Support seniors and families

•  Promote the Urban Forest and sustainable strategies

•  Remove heavy haulage and traffic off Leach Highway by building the outer harbor and/or an environmentally friendly Roe 8 and 9

•  Keep rates low through good financial management and quality services

With experience on Council and a good working relationship with Council staff, tertiary education and a background in business and fitness, I am ready to serve the community as Mayor.
