Ballot Paper Name: AYRES, Sean

Nominating for: Councillor for Central Ward

I've grown up living my whole life in the City of Melville, educated at Winthrop Primary, All Saints' College and Murdoch University, and I am passionate about building our community.

If elected, I plan to keep our rates low, our communities strong and our base services as effective as possible.

Rates are high and, with utility prices soaring, I will never support a rate increase above inflation. The efficiency of programs should constantly be monitored and any benefit passed on to ratepayers.

Also vital are effective public services, good infrastructure and communication with residents. Strong community, social and sporting groups are at the heart of Melville and I am committed to helping these groups flourish.

I look forward to working with residents, community groups and Councillors to get on with the job of making our community a better place.

Help me bring low rates and a fresh approach to Melville.

Ballot Paper Name: SANDFORD, Margaret

Nominating for: Councillor for Central Ward

If you think our Council needs cultural change, vote for me for Central Ward. I have lived and raised children in the City of Melville for 26 years.

My goal is to preserve and improve residents' quality of life, and our City's free and low cost amenities, for all ages, community groups and sports clubs.

I work as a lawyer in Myaree and understand the needs of local businesses and families.

I give back by doing pro bono legal work; and perform volunteer roles at St Benedict's Church, Ardross, and on local action group and charity committees.

As a keen walker, cyclist and kayaker, I am passionate about protecting our natural environment and the need for low-impact facilities.

I share community concerns about the frenetic pace and density of development, ever increasing rates, and traffic and parking problems.

For a commitment to better consultation and representation, please vote for me.
