Bicton, Attadale, Alfred Cove Ward Candidates

Candidate Details

Ballot Paper Name: MARTIN, Leigh

Nominating for: Councillor for Bicton-Attadale-Alfred Cove Ward

About:

As a family man who has lived in the City of Melville for almost 10 years I've seen the magnitude of change that our City has gone through, its been fascinating to witness and over time I have increasingly wanted to share my voice and inputs into the best way for the city to grow and evolve,

I run my own Financial Services business which gives me a great deal of opportunity to liaise with people regarding the good bad and indifferent in their local areas, this provides me a great sense of what is possible and where we should be going as a City,

I look forward to your endorsement and will work to make sure Melville keeps growing and improving the lifestyles of those that live and enjoy the area.

Ballot Paper Name: CRAWFORD, Gary

Nominating for: Councillor for Bicton-Attadale-Alfred Cove Ward

About:

I am committed to council reform.

Over the past 6 years, via my stewardship of two community groups, I have worked closely with our independent councillors on the issues that have impacted Bicton Attadale-Alfred Cove residents.

During this time my priorities have been and, if elected, will continue to be:

  • To improve our City administration's attitude to ratepayers
  • To improve our amenity areas and replace aging sporting infrastructure
  • To champion proper community consultation
  • Stand against unconsulted re-developments in our City
  • Champion the re-focus to put residents and ratepayers first
  • Drive cost efficiencies to deliver ratepayers better value for money

I have spent my life as a professional engineer in building and managing assets and hence bring to council all the necessary management and consultation skills to drive reform.

I ask for your vote so that we can realise the change needed to end the turmoil.

Ballot Paper Name: BARBER, Glynis

Nominating for: Councillor for Bicton-Attadale-Alfred Cove Ward

About:

If you're looking for a community minded, collaborative, considered and friendly local representative, then you should vote for me.

We need to deal with the Canning Bridge issue. Heights are out of control, and there is no planned investment in supporting infrastructure. I believe this is a major error that needs addressing.

I believe in progress -  progress that has a long-term view and takes all factors into account.

I believe in supporting local business.

I believe in supporting our community groups and sporting facilities, they are the backbone of our community.

As your representative, I will work hard to develop a sensible plan for the future of the Tompkins Park area.

I am a strong believer in public amenity, and for the protection of our parks and waterways. We have a responsibility to protect them for future generations.

We need positive change on council. I can deliver that change.
