The City of Melville is encouraging the community to check out the new streetscape upgrade on Ogilvie Road in Mount Pleasant, while supporting the local businesses in the area.
In line with the City’s priority to deliver sustainable and well-planned infrastructure, public places and spaces, the $4.2 million upgrade of the northern portion of Ogilvie Road has included new street trees and landscaped verges, improved public seating areas, widened footpaths and improved pedestrian accessibility.
The upgrade of the street was shaped by the community, as the City engaged the public on two proposed concept designs and asked them to vote on their preferred design.
To celebrate the upgrade and the completion of the works which began at the start of 2025, the City held the Taste of Ogilvie event on Saturday, 25 October.
The event included food from local businesses, live music and family activities such as a scavenger hunt.
