The City of Melville and Melville Bowling Club signed a 50-year ground lease today, Friday, 23 October 2020.
The Council voted to grant a 50-year lease term to the Melville Bowling Club at its July Ordinary Meeting of Council.
The terms of the lease were agreed at the September Ordinary Meeting of Council and the Council directed Chief Executive Officer Marten Tieleman to present it to the Melville Bowling Club for signing.
A lease signing ceremony was held at the Melville Bowling Club.
City of Melville Mayor the Hon. George Gear said he wished the Melville Bowling Club every success in the future.
“I hope the facility continues to, not only meet the needs of the bowling club members, but also continues to serve as a vibrant, accessible community as well,” said Mayor Gear.
“The club informs me that there are 22 community groups who use the club for their regular meetings and another four who are discussing using the club.
“The Melville Bowling Club have a proud record of serving the community and all of the clubs who use the facility can look forward to serving the local community with more confidence."
