LeisureFit Recreation Centres Reopening

LeisureFit Melville (431 Canning Hwy, Melville) 

The below programs and services at LeisureFit Melville have resumed:

  • Senior based fitness classes including ForeverFit Strength, Active Circuit and Lite Pace. 
  • Strength for Life sessions (formerly Living Longer Living Stronger). 
  • Casual court usage and hire available during opening hours.
  • Playtime Playground, suitable for children aged 6 months to 7 years.
  • Meeting rooms and sport courts available for user group hire.
  • Birthday Parties

Programs and services NOT opening at LeisureFit Melville just yet:

  • LeisureFit Sports will cease running these services immediately. We will continue to keep patrons informed as more detail of this progresses.
  • Gymbakids term program will not be returning. 
  • Bridge Club will return early July 2020.

LeisureFit Booragoon (521 Marmion St, Booragoon) 

The below programs and services at LeisureFit Booragoon have resumed:

  • Gym 
  • Fitness Classes including Cycle and Reformer classes
  • 50m Pool 
  • 25m Leisure Pool 
  • Crèche *
  • LeisureFit Athletic training program
  • LeisureFit Competition Swim
  • Flippa Swim School program – beginning Term 3, enrolments now open
  • Sauna, spa and steam rooms

Membership Reactivations - There is nothing you need to do. Your membership will be reactivated by the Memberships team, unless you choose to extend your Membership Timehold. 

New Book Online Portal - Please be aware that during the closure period we completed an upgrade of our Book Online Portal which now offers additional online features. Our valued members will enjoy perks such as; booking into Fitness Classes (24 hour advance booking), purchasing and managing your Membership, making casual facility bookings, managing your payment and contact details and view Pool lane availability. All members will now need to create a new online account to book into fitness classes. When creating your new online account, please ensure to use the email address linked to your membership.

COVID-19 Safety Plan and access to our centres

Do you have a Covid-19 Safety Plan?

LeisureFit’s COVID Safety Plan certificate is displayed at the entrance of LeisureFit Booragoon.

Please maintain a 1.5m distance with other patrons, i.e. refrain from high fives, hugs or hand shaking.  The Centre has implemented social distancing signage throughout the centre, hygiene stations and staff have been trained in the City’s COVID-19 safety plan.  We request that you arrive at the centre no more than 10 minutes prior to your session time and leave shortly thereafter.

We ask customers to not attend the centre if you have any of the following symptoms; fever, cough or shortness of breath.

What additional cleaning and hygiene stations will be available?

We have installed hand sanitiser stations at all entry and exit points, along with extra antibacterial gym wipe dispensers in all fitness studios.  We have allowed for adequate cleaning time between Group Fitness classes to ensure a thorough clean is completed before the next class commences.  All shared equipment will be disinfected and cleaned between use. 

Our professional cleaning schedule has also increased along with each specific areas rostering additional staff for cleaning shifts.

How do I access the centre?

LeisureFit Booragoon  (521 Marmion St, Booragoon) reopened on Monday, 15 June 2020

LeisureFit Melville (431 Canning Hwy, Melville) reopened on Monday, 22 June 2020.

Can I still pay with cash?

We know the virus can spread on surfaces, including cash. The more we avoid using cash, the better your chances are of avoiding the virus.  Therefore, even though LeisureFit will accept cash payments, please be mindful our preferred method of payment is to be cashless. During Phase 3, we encourage all members to use EFTPOS facilities instead of cash as LeisureFit.

Memberships, Multi Visit Passes and Casual Entry

My regular direct debit membership is currently suspended. When will I start getting charged?

From 14 July, 2020 your regular direct debit payment schedule will recommence. All LeisureFit fees and charges will also remain unchanged for the 2020-2021 financial year.

My regular upfront membership is currently suspended. What will happen to this membership?

From 15 June, 2020 your regular membership will resume.  For the period the centre was closed – 22 March, 2020 up until the 13 July, 2020 your membership will be extended.  This means that if you had six months left on your membership from the closure date, this remaining six months will resume on 14 July, 2020.

My last direct debit was processed on 14 March, 2020. What happens?

Your membership will be credited.  This means that your membership payments will remain frozen with your next payment taking place on 14 July, 2020.

How do I reactivate my membership from 15 June, 2020?

There is nothing you need to do.  Your membership will be reactivated by the memberships team, unless you choose to extend your suspension.  Please contact the memberships team via memberships@melville.wa.gov.au to find out more.

I’m not ready to return. How long can I stay suspended?

If you would like to extend your membership suspension, please email us at memberships@melville.wa.gov.au prior to 10 July, 2020. Due to COVID-19, LeisureFit is happy to allow a COMPLIMENTARY Timehold on your membership (up until 30 September, 2020), should you not wish to return quite yet. Please contact the Membership’s team with your preferred return date.

Please note, current T&C’s medical timeholds are still in place for those not able to return in any stage due to medical reasons.

Can I attend the centre as a casual visitor?

Yes, casual users are welcome. Please be mindful, with the Phase 3 restrictions in place, LeisureFit may be forced to stop patrons entering the facility.  All patrons must provide contact information for COVID-19 tracing purposes.

My multi visit passes were suspended. What will happen to these passes?

If you are a visit pass holder, the expiry of your card will be extended to account for the temporary closure as above.  From 15 June, 2020 you will be able to use your remaining visits and your expiry date will begin counting down once again.

I'm not a member and would like to purchase a membership. What are my options?

View the current timetable. You will notice larger breaks between some classes, this will allow extra time for cleaning in between classes.

What are the centre opening hours?

LeisureFit Booragoon

  • Monday to Friday      5:30am to 9:00pm
  • Saturday                   6:00am to 5:00pm
  • Sunday                     7:00am to 5:00pm

LeisureFit Melville

  • Monday to Friday      6:00am to 6:00pm*
  • Saturday                   8:00am to 1:00pm*
  • Sunday                     9:00am to 12:00pm*  

*modified operating hours NOTE: the facility is available for group bookings outside of these hours.

What are the 50m and 25m Leisure Pool operating hours?
  • Monday to Friday         5:30am to 8:00pm (50m Pool will close at 9:00pm)
  • Saturday                      6:00am to 5:00pm
  • Sunday                        7:00am to 5:00pm

 

What are the Gym opening hours?

What are the Health Lounge; Spa, Sauna, Steam opening hours?

Our Sauna, Spa and Steam rooms will be available from Monday, 29 June 2020, with a maximum capacity of 4 people per area will apply. Please ensure you bring a towel for use in the Sauna and Steam room and see reception on arrival for a wristband.

Is the crèche open at LeisureFit Booragoon?

Yes, the creche at LeisureFit Booragoon is open. Bookings are essential and can be completed by contacting the team on 9364 0800.

Monday to Friday         8:00am to 1:00pm*

Saturday                      7:45am to 11:45am*

*modified operating hours. We request that no customers enter the play area of creche. Children are to be dropped off and picked up in the creche foyer.

How many people can attend LeisureFit Booragoon?

Phase 4 of eased restrictions will take effect in WA on Saturday, 27 June

  • The 2sqm per person capacity rule remains in place. 
  • Reduced fitness class capacity numbers.
Do I need to book in to use the Centre?

No booking is required, we are allowing casual entry.  Please just be mindful of the above restrictions.

Can I use the change rooms and showers?

All change rooms and showers have reopened. Please ensure to maintain a safe distance at all times with other patrons.

 

When will other programs and services recommence?

LeisureFit will communicate updates via our respective channels, including eNews, email and social media.
