The proposed introduction of paid parking for cars at Deep Water Point has been postponed, awaiting further direction from Council.

The proposed introduction of paid parking for cars at Deep Water Point scheduled to begin on Monday 15 July 2019 has been postponed, awaiting further direction from Council.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Mick McCarthy said the City acknowledged community and stakeholder feedback.

“We have looked at the urgency of the matter and will provide further advice and information regarding the introduction of paid parking for cars at Deep Water Point, subject to direction from Council,” Mr McCarthy said.

“We are still encouraging people to utilise parking along the Esplanade and at Mount Henry Bridge to help reduce congestion at the site.”

As per previous arrangements, boat trailers will continue to be charged a parking fee, along with any cars that choose to park in the designated boat trailer parking bays within the allowable timeframes.

A Notice of Motion will be presented to Council at Tuesday’s Ordinary Meeting of Council.
