A competition for City of Melville pet owners to win a $100 Gift Voucher from City Farmers Booragoon, will run throughout October as a way of encouraging people to renew and register their pets for 2018.
To enter the competition, pet owners are asked to post a picture of their cat or dog in costume with hashtags #melvillecity and #furbabyfashion on the City’s Facebook page and must have registered or renewed their animal for 2018 to be eligible to win.
City of Melville Mayor Russell Aubrey said the competition was a fun way to remind residents to register or renew their pets and importantly to ensure they are microchipped in case they are ever lost they can be found and returned to their families.
“Cat and dog registrations expire every year on 31 October, so we thought why not have some fun and share much loved photographs of our furry friends to help spread the word to remind pet owners.
“I have already seen lots of entries and I can tell it will be a tough job to choose the winner – my favourite so far is “Sir Reginald Timms” who dressed up in blue and yellow watching his favourite AFL team, West Coast Eagles win the grand final.”
The Facebook competition closes on Wednesday, 31 October 2018.
